Science Department

The Science Department of New Open World Academy is comprised of  science educators that discuss and share best practices in a collaborative setting, integrate the use of technology in the classroom, implement inquiry and aligns lessons with the approved NGSS standards.  Our teachers of varying experiences are committed to collaborate with one another to produce meaningful and effective lessons rooted in data, technology and inquiry to improve student achievement in science.

Mr. Medina, Ms. Bagorio and Ms. Park teach students how to think critically, utilize various resources to provide evidence for claims made and make connections to the real world. Students learn to examine the world around them through the lens of different science disciplines.
